Nomar Garciaparra is arguably the best shortstop in baseball. He can hit the ball with the best of 'em and his glove is outstanding. Nomar is up for the 1998 AL MVP. He has put up great numbers in his career, especially considering that he's only been in the majors for two years! Nomar's abilities will make him stay with the Bosox for a long time. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers when he got out of high school, but instead chose to go to college. This was a smart move on Nomar's behalf as he majored in business. After making the US Olympic Team as a freshmen, among other things, he went on to play for Boston where he currently is now. The RedSox lost in the first round of the playoffs. Nomar, however, displayed great character as he cheered throughout the game and provided Boston with there only offense(a solo homerun).
